Dannijo x Jewelry
Lately, the American label Dannijo has been pretty hyped here in Denmark – their colorful jewelries seem to be everywhere, both on the Internet and on the streets. Recently, when I wanted to check out their website, I came across their latest look book pictures from the Mr. Dannijo’s Eye Spies Collection, in which the founders and sisters Danielle and Jodie Snyder once again collaborate with the funny and very interesting blogger Leandra Medine aka The Man Repeller. The pictures are amazing – so happy, funny and fresh. I don’t know about the Snyders, but they are very Leandra Medine. The collection itself is spot on as well and hit home on Dannijo’s wish to create jewelry for fun loving, free spirited and passionate women.
The first collection made by the Snyders and Medine was the MR. DANNIJO Collection, which was a huge success. The collection was a range of limited-edition pieces inspired by menswear style arbiters that turned male iconoclasts into feminine pieces of jewelry. Very fitting for Leandra Medine’s play on masculine on feminine, who also wanted the collection to be something representative of the Man Repeller. The second collection is more playful than the first one with colorful eyeballs, which according to Medine is inspired by planets, aliens and all the cool stuff that’s not on earth.
The label Dannijo was founded by Danielle and Jodie Snyder in 2008. All the jewelries are hand-made in New York with a mission to create high fashion jewelry that embodies fashion trends from past and present in a design that combines both of the sisters style and taste.
